Based in Otepoti Dunedin, Steph started her bodywork career in 2011 following a back injury. While lying on an osteopath's table, a spark rekindled when looking at the anatomy posters. There was a period when I wanted to be physiotherapist, so I decided to initially complete a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage and see where this would lead. After creating her own small practice Restorative Bodyworks and starting to build up her patient base, she found massage was helping with some things but not others. For some people it only seemed to achieve short term relief. There had to be more, and ever curious I started exploring other modalities.

It was in Otautahi where I discovered the work of French Osteopath Jean-Piere Barral and have never looked back. The techniques can only be described as a game changer or the missing link in fascial work. I up-skilled through the Barral Institute of NZ, and am specialising in Visceral and Neural Manipulation. As well as being a level 3 Reiki master practitioner.

Working like this addresses both acute and chronic issues, and comes from a holistic perspective. It also improves stress related and mental health aspects as well. With the understanding that we are physical, emotional, mental and spiritual beings. All techniques aim to work towards clients truly feeling their best, improve well-being and enhance quality of life. Where appropriate I also work alongside other practioners.

Restorative Bodyworks is committed to sustainability, and minimising its environmental impact. All equipment has been purchased second hand or upcycled. All oil blends and products used are custom made and are ethically and organically sourced where possible.
